The environment

By now, most people have heard of or read the UN climate change report. I have a feeling that to a vast major of people, it doesn't come as a surprise (at least I hope not) especially with the goals and focus of our current administration.
It got me thinking though - how can I start lessening my carbon footprint?

Currently, I...
1. I try to recycle as much as I can
2. When I get the chance to patronize smaller businesses that promote good, ethical practices, I do.
3. I'm not going to have kids
4. I don't overspread money on items I don't need
5. I try to bike, run, or take public transportation as much as possible
This is a very short list. And there's definitely more I could do...
1. Recycle more at work
2. Remember to use cloth bags instead of plastic ones when I shop
3. Focus more on purchasing items that don't come in plastic packaging
4. ENCOURAGE others to be more mindful of their daily practices

I have said "God help my niece and nephew" more times than I can count during the past 631 days (how long #45 has been in office). And it's frustrating to think that even if I start implementing more environmentally friendly practices into my life...I'm still just one person. Can I really make a difference?
“You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do make a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.” Jane Goodall
I have to believe that just the smallest action can help though. I just hope others will follow, before it's too late.
