Tiptoeing in the Tulips

Last year around this time, my mom and I started a new tradition of visiting Pella, my old college town, to see the Tulips, drink the coffee, and spend time on Central's campus.

Pella has tulips for most of the year, however, around Tulip Time, they pull out all the stops.

Pella doesn't change much. As of 2018, I hadn't been back, and when we arrived last year, I was relieved to see that the town was still quaint, clean, and breathtakingly pretty. It's a reminder of much similar times, when the world was at my feet and I could do anything. I sometimes still feel like that girl...but that comes in waves now ;)

The flowers this year were bursting with color and just filled the town. They were perfectly arranged, clipped, and just shown brightly like orderly rows of jewels.

In addition to seeing the town, my mother and I went to my favorite coffee shop in the entire world, Smokey Row, walked around Central College's campus, and ate at the cafeteria. We just soaked in the brief time that we were there, grateful for the bird song, colors, and small town feel.

We stayed in the CUTEST Air B&B that was sixties themed and just charming. It added to the coziness of the entire weekend.

I didn't want to leave. ;)

I also got to run on the trail where I did as a college kid.

.....and remembered every step.

These visits to Pella are so special. Time does stand still there and it's always comforting to come back.

XOXO
